March Seminar 2010 - Senior Master O'Neill

Blackbelt Group PhotographSaturday 20th March saw the first area seminar of the year, conducted by Senior Master O'Neill. As always the seminar was well supported with in excess of 80 students in attendance.

The senior seminar for 1st Kups and blackbelts covered class procedure, performance of patterns and the correct application of technique but also concentrated on the requirements for blackbelt promotion exam including jumping and flying kicks.

The colourbelt seminar was packed to the rafters with excitable children and the first hour was dedicated to helping them understand the importance of stances and starting positions and how important it is to do your best, not just in Taekwondo, but at school and at home too. Once the children were dismissed, the juniors and adults went through their pattern movements and also spent some time on all aspects of pre-arranged sparring, including correct measuring and procedure.

All students and Instructors would like to thank Master O'Neill for a very enjoyable and informative seminar. Mr Storton was pleased to note the very evident quality of the Tidworth students at the seminar, which is testimony to the hard work and dedication each and every one puts into their training and he looks forward to a very successful local grading in the very near future.Group Photograph

November Seminar 2009 - Senior Master Cutler

Group PhotoTidworth Taekwondo members were delighted to welcome Senior Master Cutler to the local area to conduct a seminar on the 14th November.

As usual Master Cutler delivered an excellent seminar and all students who attended left feeling they had learnt a great deal. A large portion of the seminar was spent going through students' patterns, looking closely at the different techniques involved and ensuring everyone understood the correct practical application, with particular emphasis on the use of sine wave to generate power. Master Cutler then focused closely on kicking techniques, breaking down both side piercing kick and turning kick and allowing all individuals to refine their technique. Photographs from the day can be viewed here.

November SeminarPrior to the seminar a number of students were involved in the grading. All students performed well on the day demonstrating their abilities in a number of areas and were successful in promoting to the next grade. Further information can be found on our grading page.
